SUMMARY:Introduction to Emotional Healing Processes.
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n  \nThere is a difference between feelings\, which originate in the present and are for handling things\, and emotions\, which are unhealed wounds that originate from the past. This workshop is about learning how to be in touch with your feelings without getting stuck in emotional reactivity. There is a difference! \nWe will experientially go over the Four Feelings Cycle\, how to get out of stuck emotional patterns\, how to extract wisdom from your feelings\, and how to heal emotional wounds. \nMore specifically\, we’ll cover the distinctions between: \n\nFeelings (origin is in the present) vs Emotions (origin is in a past\, unhealed wound\nConscious and unconscious uses of feeling\nWhat an Emotional Healing Process is\, how to trace emotional reactivity to the wound it is rooted in\, and how to make new decisions about that wound\n\nWe will practice: \n\nFeeling our feelings\nDistinguishing between our feelings and emotional reactivity\nHolding vacuum spaces for others so they can express higher levels of feeling\nHow to be with and let emotional energy move in our bodies\nTreating our feelings not as second-class citizens to our minds\, but as valuable sources of information and energy for our lives\n\n“Give someone a healing process and they’ll be okay for a day. Teach people how to hold emotional healing processes for each other\, and they’ll be okay for a lifetime.” – someone\, once. \n6-9pm @ Sirius Community \n$25\, no one turned away for lack of funds \n\nBios: \n\n\n\nDaway is an intimacy negotiator and mythic storyteller. His favorite hobby is going into “liquid state\,” the groundlessness that happens when old stories about the world and who he can be\, dissolve. He loves being with people committed to the hard work of ego transformation and creating ecstatic communities with those kinds of folks. \nMeredith is a community researcher and former school teacher who cares deeply about helping people become more alive and have better\, more connected\, and more intimate relationships with each other.
